: I really enjoyed when Mr. Cobb would come to CHS to deliver all of the cheesecakes we had sold during our fundraising period. He would come on a B-day at 11:06 a.m. The Jazz band would lend a helping hand to unload the delivery truck and once we had gotten everything set-up we all got some cheesecake to eat in class. It was quite fantastic.

: As 88 students marched in the rain on a chilly Saturday afternoon in October, everyone knew we were coming in as the underdogs. Three consecutive years of defeat, knowing that we should have walked away with the first place trophies, is a hard mental block to over come. As a senior, leader, and member of the 2009 marhcing band, I realized that it wasn't about the wins. I stood on that field with 87 other brothers and sisters and knew that we had done our best, performed the show we wanted to, which is the greatest victory there is. We knew we had won, and regardless of the position the judges felt we had deserved, I have never felt prouder and more apart of the band family at Chapin. We didn't win. We didn't get the outcome we were remotely dreaming of. What we did get out of the past four years of defeat is the will and determination to do better, practice harder, and to live stonger. Thank you for all the best experiences of my life Chapin Band Family. I wish you the best of luck in the future, and I know the actual victory is coming.
